The quality is evident in the Woodworm Grade A Super Test Cricket Balls, with traditional alum tanned leather dyed red for Test Cricket regulations. This ball is made from five layers of cork and the finest woollen yarn. The cork is seasoned and surrounds a rubber core. The cork is layered with tightly wound string and encased in leather with a raised sewn seam. The covering is built of four pieces of leather. The seam of the ball is used to produce different trajectories through the air, known as spin, swing and seam bowling.
